UPDATE:
Jones has been stripped of title, Daniel Cormier will take his place against Rumble Johnson for the belt at UFC 187. UFC President spoke on Fox Sports live stating "It's not fun, but you know what they say: the show goes on," White said.
Jones tweeted his regret prior to the announcement.

He has been suspended indefinitely.

UPDATE:
Bernalillo County has released Jon Jones' booking photo. He has reportedly been released on $2500 cash bond. No court information has been released. UFC has not officially cancelled his UFC 187 bout.
There is also now video of Jones leaving jail. He hides his face under a hat as he makes his way to a car. See below:

ABQ Police have placed Jon Jones in custody according to tweet from the Albuquerque Police.

Ariel Helwani has spoken with the ABQ police and they are in the process of upgrading his warrant to a felony due to the injuries sustained by the victim. Also reports are showing that an off duty police office identified a man he belives to be Jon Jones fleeing from the scene. There are also reports that a marijuana pipe and drugs were found in the car.

The UFC has released the following statement:
"We are aware that the Albuquerque Police Department is interested in speaking to Jon Jones regarding his possible involvement in a motor vehicle accident. We are in the process of gathering facts and will reserve further comment until more information is available."

"The case has progressed and he is now our suspect in the the hit and run that happened earlier this morning involving a pregnant female," Drobik said. "We are now definitely looking at him as a suspect."

The Albuquerque Polive have issues the following statement:
"The Albuquerque Police Department is actively seeking UFC Fighter Jon Jones for questioning in regards to his possible involvement in a hit-and-run accident, near the intersection of Juan Tabo and Southern, in Southeast Albuquerque early this morning, April 26, 2015.
A pregnant female in her 20s, who was the driver of a separate vehicle, was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.
Officers attempted to contact Mr. Jones at his residence Sunday evening, but were unsuccessful. We have also reached out to his lawyer, but as of now, have not heard back."

According to an Albuquerque Police Department spokesman who spoke with MMAFighting.com on Sunday, Jones is being sought for questioning in regards to a hit and run accident.
According to MMAFighting.com, 'A middle-aged woman's car was struck Sunday in Albuquerque, N.M., and the offender in the other vehicle fled the scene, per Albuquerque PD spokesman Simon Drobik. The case is currently under investigation and Albuquerque PD would like to speak with Jones regarding the matter. Drobik could not confirm if Jones was a suspect in the incident.'

Reports have surfaced via Twitter that UFC champion Jon Jones was allegedly involved in a hit and run accident Saturday night in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Reports say that cocaine was also found at the scene. As a result his title defense at UFC 187 this May could be in jeopardy.

Jones was most recently in the news for his failed drug test at his last fight. He entered rehab and was welcomed back to UFC.
