Matt Hughes has been retired from MMA for the past two years, but it seems as though he might just make a comeback.
Hughes who is a UFC Hall of Famer and is considered once the pioneers in the welterweight division recently met with a German news outlet Groundandpound.de and spoke candidly about wanting to fight again.
"For Dana White to say 'come back'. That's all it would take, a phone call from Dana and I would be back,” he said. “I'm a little old, I'm 41 years old and I'd have to be careful with my opponent, but I'm still a competitor and I'd love to get in there."
Hughes went on to suggest a fight with Matt Serra, who has been asking for a rematch ever since their May 2009 fight that ended in a unanimous decision for Hughes.

While many are sure to tune in to a Hughes comeback it’s unlikely he’d be up for a title shot anytime soon. Current welterweight champ Robbie Lawler has plenty of contenders in Rory MacDonals, Jony Hendricks and Hector Lombard (when his suspension is lifted of course).
Hughes last fought and lost to Josh Koscheck in the first round at UFC 135 in September of 2011.
